State Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao announced that around 2,200 acres of Paddy, Maize, and horticulture crops were damaged by unseasonal rains in six districts of Telangana. The affected districts include Narayanapet, Kamareddy, Nizamabad, Nagarkurnool, Yadadri, and Siddipet.

In response to the damage, the Minister has instructed agriculture and horticulture officials to visit the affected areas promptly and gather information on the extent of crop loss. Farmers are being advised to take precautions to minimize further damage during the next two to three weeks, especially with paddy harvesting underway.

District Collectors are overseeing efforts to prevent crops, particularly paddy, from getting wet in markets and centers. Over 2 lakh tarpaulin covers have been distributed in market yards to protect the crops from rain damage.
