The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught an inspector of the Drugs Control Administration (DCA) red-handed for accepting a bribe of Rs 18,000 to process a pharmacy license at a charitable hospital in Hyderabad. The accused officer, Koorelli Someshwar, works as a drug inspector for the DCA in the Miryalaguda area, Nalgonda zone. He was apprehended by the ACB when he took the bribe from C Saidi Reddy, the hospital maintenance in-charge of Nukala Venkat Reddy Charitable Hospital in Kothagudem village, Nalgonda.
The bribe money was found in a brown leather bag pocket of the accused officer during the investigation. A chemical test on the bag confirmed the presence of the bribe amount. The ACB officials recovered the money and arrested the accused officer. He was presented before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases in Hyderabad.
