BRS party MLA Palla Rajeswar Reddy criticized the State government for not providing a bonus of 500 rupees to farmers for their crops, and for failing to offer the support price. He mentioned that farmers were selling their produce for Rs 1500 per quintal, with only 440 metric tonnes being purchased at the grain purchase centres in Jangaon out of the total 4,000 metric tonnes received at the market yard. Reddy highlighted that farmers were only receiving 1530 rupees per quintal at the market yard, while traders were buying paddy from middlemen for less than the minimum support price of Rs 700.

When officials were confronted about the low prices, they initially denied buying at such rates, but farmers only received an additional 30 rupees after the matter was brought to the attention of the Chief Minister. Reddy accused middlemen of controlling the markets and expressed disappointment that neither the CM nor state ministers seemed concerned about the farmers’ plight.

Reddy questioned the actions of CM Revanth Reddy and deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, who had promised during elections to provide a bonus of Rs 500 and buy paddy for Rs 2500 per quintal. However, he pointed out that these promises had not been fulfilled, leaving farmers without the support they were expecting.
