Flipkart has opened a new grocery fulfillment center in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, offering next-day delivery of groceries to local customers. The center will provide a variety of popular regional brands and over 6,000 products in categories like dairy, eggs, chocolates, and cleaning aids.
Visakhapatnam is a fast-growing e-commerce market in India, especially for online groceries. With an increase in demand for convenience and value, Flipkart has seen a rise in grocery orders from local consumers. This is the second grocery fulfillment center launched by Flipkart in Andhra Pradesh, after Vijayawada.
The new fulfillment center in Visakhapatnam covers 77,000 square feet and will handle 8,000 orders per day. It will also serve nearby areas like Anakapalle, Kakinada, Rajahmundry, Srikakulam, and Vizianagaram, creating job opportunities for around 1,000 people and benefiting local businesses and farmers.
Heritage Foods CEO, Srideep Kesavan, praised the partnership with Flipkart and highlighted the wide distribution reach of the platform. Flipkart’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Rajneesh Kumar, emphasized the company’s commitment to reaching consumers across India and supporting local communities through initiatives like the new fulfillment center.
Flipkart’s Vice President of Grocery, Hari Kumar G, noted the growing demand for online grocery shopping in Andhra Pradesh and expressed the company’s goal to enhance consumer satisfaction in the region. The launch of the new fulfillment center in Visakhapatnam aims to provide high-quality groceries at a great value to customers within a day.
