    Questions raised over GHMC and EC’s silence on complaints in Hyderabad

    Officials from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and the Election Commission are facing criticism for not addressing concerns about the location of polling booths and electoral rolls. The Congress, BJP, and AIMIM have raised objections to these issues.

    The Congress has clashed with AIMIM and GHMC authorities over multiple entries of the same individuals in the electoral rolls during the Telangana State Assembly elections. BJP leader Raja Singh also raised concerns about voter entries being duplicated in the same door numbers.

    Allegations of electoral list manipulation have been focused on the Chandrayanagutta and Yakutpura assembly segments. Some polling stations located in poor areas are said to be hindering voters from freely casting their ballots.

    BJP candidate Madhavi Latha accused AIMIM of running a polling station in the house of a corporator from the Old City. Complaints about voter list manipulation made to GHMC and Election Commission officials have not yielded results.

    Questions have been raised about the GHMC’s role in preparing voter lists and addressing fake votes from multiple entries. Despite claims of readiness for the upcoming parliament elections in the Old City, officials have not responded to the allegations.
