    Telangana State senior IPS officer Rajiv Ratan, who was the Director General of Telangana Vigilance and Enforcement, passed away on Tuesday due to a heart attack while being treated at a private hospital. His final rites will be held at Mahaprasthanam on Wednesday.

    Rajiv Ratan complained of chest pain on Tuesday morning, and his family took him to AIG Hospital in Raidurg. Despite his upcoming retirement in six months, his sudden death has deeply affected his colleagues. Fellow IPS officers visited the hospital to pay their respects to him.

    Governor CP Radhakrishnan expressed his condolences on the sudden passing of Rajiv Ratan, highlighting his dedicated service to the police department. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy also expressed shock over his demise, praising his sincerity and efficiency in his police career.

    Rajiv Ratan had served in various positions during his 33-year-long career, including as SP Karimnagar, DG of Fire Services, MD of Police Housing Corporation, Additional DGP (organisation), IG Hyderabad region, and SP Karimnagar. Several IPS officers visited the hospital to offer their condolences to his family.

    State DGP Ravi Gupta, Intelligence Additional DGP B Shivadhar Reddy, Railways Road Safety Additional DGP Mahesh M Bhagwat, RTC MD VC Sajjanar, and police commissioners Avinash Mohanty and Tarun Joshi were among those who paid their respects to the late officer.
