Hyderabad: The Endowments Department is focusing on preserving temple lands in the State as a top priority. A review meeting was held with senior officers and executive officers of main temples at the Endowments headquarters. Commissioner Hanumantha Rao emphasized the protection of lands belonging to various temples and the need to establish boundaries with the help of the revenue department.

He instructed officials to take back encroached lands with assistance from revenue department officials and to file necessary legal actions regarding temple lands. With a large number of devotees expected to visit temples during the current summer holidays, the commissioner directed officials to provide shelters, cold drinks, and water facilities for their convenience. Priority should be given to common devotees, and infrastructure improvements should be made to encourage repeat visits.

Hanumantha Rao also stressed the importance of maintaining quality in Prasads and keeping strict records of income and expenditure related to temples to prevent any irregularities. He warned against neglecting duties and ordered temple priests, staff, and lower-level employees to promptly address any issues that arise. Weekly review meetings with officials and staff were suggested, along with displaying informational boards about the history and significance of each temple.
