The State BJP in Hyderabad demanded a probe into phone-tapping starting from June 2014 instead of 2016. Party Medak MP candidate M Raghunandan Rao questioned the selective nature of the current investigation into the phone-tapping scandal. He mentioned his own complaint to the DGP about his phone being tapped during the Dubbaka by-election and called for an investigation into the involvement of the then district collector and current BRS Medak MP candidate Venkatarami Reddy and former State Minister T Harish Rao.

Rao also brought up claims made by a former police officer about recovering Rs 3.5 crore from the house of a relative of a BJP candidate during the Munugodu by-election. He urged Congress MLAs Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy and Vivek Venkataswamy to push for a comprehensive probe into phone-tapping during that election. Rao emphasized that phone-tapping likely required directions from the Chief Minister, so he called for an investigation into CM A Revanth Reddy’s phone-tapping in 2015.

Furthermore, Rao criticized the current phone-tapping investigation for focusing on instructions from senior police officials, alleging connections to the current government. He demanded full disclosure of the phone-tapping scandal details and raised questions about missing funds related to a previous incident. He mentioned lodging a complaint with the Enforcement Directorate regarding the issue.

On a separate note, BJP LP leader Maheshwar Reddy called for a CBI probe into the Dhrani land scam, highlighting allegations of irregularities involving Miyapur/assigned/temple/wakf lands during the BRS government’s tenure. He expressed doubts about the State government’s sincerity in investigating land scams and accused the Congress of making deals related to funding LS elections. Reddy emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the land scams and indicated plans to bring the issue to the Centre’s attention.
