South Central Railways (SCR) has been working hard to improve its rail network and infrastructure. In the fiscal year 2023-24, SCR added a record-breaking 416 kilometers of track to its network. This is the highest amount of track ever added in a single year since the zone was established.

This success can be attributed to the careful planning and timely commissioning of new rail lines. In the past year, SCR completed 39 kilometers of new lines, 54 kilometers of gauge conversion, 133 kilometers of double lines, and 190 kilometers of third lines. These additions highlight SCR’s dedication to enhancing railway infrastructure.
