Hyderabad: The BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao will be campaigning extensively in the upcoming Lok Sabha election. He plans to cover about 80 Assembly segments through his bus yatra, which will start with a public meeting in Chevella on April 13.

Party leaders have stated that the selection of candidates is complete, with only one candidate left to be chosen after the exit of Kadiyam Kavya from Warangal. KCR is now focusing on his campaign, and sources say he will visit mandals touching the majority of Assembly constituencies starting from the second week of April.

Despite the exodus of leaders, the BRS is the first party to announce all 17 candidates. The former CM is preparing to target the Congress party and has already criticized the government on issues like drought, power, irrigation, and farmers’ problems during recent events. KCR will visit Karimnagar district on April 5 to meet with farmers and provide them with support.

The BRS chief will kick off his campaign with a public meeting in Chevella on April 13. Following this, he will hold meetings in various districts, including road shows and corner meetings in villages during evenings. The party has already begun preparations by holding constituency-wise meetings with party leaders. During the 2023 Assembly elections, KCR addressed over 80 meetings across the State.

Party leaders like working president KT Rama Rao and T Harish Rao are also traveling to districts for preparatory meetings with candidates and targeting rival parties. They have been seen accompanying party candidates on ‘pada yatra’. The campaign is expected to intensify after Ugadi, according to a senior party leader.
