Former minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of misusing Central Investigation Agencies to suppress opponents. He made this statement during protests organized by BRS in Thorrur, Palakurthi, and Wardhannapet against the arrest of MLC K Kavitha. Errabelli claimed that the BJP-led Central Government was creating fear among the Opposition before the Lok Sabha election.

Errabelli criticized Kavitha’s arrest, stating it went against Supreme Court guidelines. He also mentioned that the timing of the arrest, after 6 pm, was unlawful. According to him, the arrest aimed to demoralize BRS supporters and was part of BJP’s strategy to use Enforcement Directorate (ED) before elections. Errabelli alleged that Congress and BJP were working together to weaken BRS. During the protests, BRS members chanted slogans against BJP and displayed placards with messages like ‘ED First – Modi Next’.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Kavitha in Hyderabad and transferred her to Delhi for questioning on Friday.
