Senior BJP leader AP Jithendar Reddy resigned from the party and joined Congress. He was quickly appointed as a special representative of the Telangana Government in New Delhi and adviser to government (Sports Affairs).
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy personally invited Jithendar Reddy to join Congress, promising him a good position in the government. This led Jithendar Reddy to make the decision to leave BJP.
In a letter to the BJP high command, Jithendar Reddy expressed his regrets about the removal of BJP State chief B Sanjay during the election period. He felt that the party’s performance had suffered since the change in State leadership.
Jithendar Reddy criticized the party’s decision to prioritize outsiders who recently joined over long-time party members in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He believed that this shift in focus had negatively impacted the party’s performance in recent elections.
