The construction of National Highway-563, which connects Jagtial to Khammam, is currently underway with a major focus on the Karimnagar-Warangal section. This 68 km stretch is being converted into a four-lane road, with 7 km already completed. Land acquisition is almost finished, with 258.67 hectares of land required in Karimnagar district for the highway. Farmers and residents in Kesavapatnam, Manakondur, and Kothapalli mandals have been fighting for fair compensation for their land.
Despite some challenges, the construction of the highway is progressing smoothly. NH-563 is 248.83 km long, with separate sections for Karimnagar-Warangal and Karimnagar-Jagtial. Junctions are planned near Jagtial and Warangal.
Land acquisition for the Karimnagar-Warangal section is divided into 3A, 3G, and 3D, with reports suggesting near completion. Changes in road alignment and increased construction rates have raised the estimated cost to Rs 2,146 crores from the initial Rs 1,641 crores, with a new completion target of July 2025.
Changes have been made to the route passing through Karimnagar Bus Stand, Court Square, Raykurti Kothapalli, and Irukulla vagu via Manakondur. Eleven bridges are set to be constructed, including a toll gate at Kothagattu in Sankarapatnam mandal. The DBL Company is currently working on these projects.
Once the Karimnagar-Warangal section is completed, connectivity between Chhattisgarh-Telangana-Maharashtra will improve. Officials believe this will enhance transportation, tourism, and employment opportunities. Residents are also urging the government to address compensation disparities in the area.
