Former minister G Jagadish Reddy has blocked the chances of Legislative Council chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy’s son Amit from getting a ticket in the upcoming Lok Sabha election. Amit, who was hoping to run for office, has decided not to contest.

Gutha has been advocating for his son to receive a ticket, with his name being considered even during the Munugode by-elections. Amit has been involved in various programs through his trust in Nalgonda district. Sukhender Reddy was aiming for a ticket from either Nalgonda or Bhongir LS segment this time. Initially, he was disappointed when his name was not included in the list of potential candidates during meetings at Telangana Bhavan. Eventually, BRS working president KT Rama Rao had to intervene and pacify him.

The power dynamics within the party have shifted, with Jagadish Reddy being influential and taking on various responsibilities assigned by the party. He successfully managed the by-polls in Nagarjunsgar and Huzurnagar, leading the party to victory by a significant margin. His win in Nalgonda district during the Congress wave further solidified his position within the party, earning praise from party chief KCR.

However, there is internal conflict among BRS leaders in Nalgonda. When Amit’s name was suggested for Nalgonda, a former MLA openly opposed his candidacy and vowed to defeat him in the elections. With the party leadership unable to resolve the internal disputes in the district, it seems that the father-son duo has chosen to step back from the contest.
