    The Hyderabad District Election Officer (DEO) has asked public representatives to cooperate for smooth and fair Lok Sabha elections in Greater Hyderabad. DEO Ronald Rose met with party representatives at the GHMC headquarters to discuss the upcoming polls.

    The Election Commission is expected to issue a notification for the LS polls soon. The first level of examination of EVMs and VVPATs has been completed, with 16 EVM demonstration centres set up to raise awareness about voting rights. GHMC headquarters and RO offices in 15 Assembly segments have been established for voting on EVMs.

    The final voter list was published on February 8, revealing a total of 45,70,138 voters in Greater Hyderabad district, including 23,30,574 men, 22,39,240 women, and 324 third gender voters. There are 3,986 polling stations in the district to facilitate voting.

    From January 23 to March 4, a total of 169,255 Forms 6, 6A, 7, and 8 were registered both online and offline, with 109,072 processed. Out of these, 102,294 applications were approved and 6,778 were rejected. Form 6 can be submitted up to ten days before the last date of nomination to ensure eligibility for voting.

    DEO Rose emphasized the importance of having an Epic card to vote and urged people to check their names on the voter list. Steps are being taken to ensure all family members vote in the same booth. Complaints received by parties at the field level are being investigated by officials.

    Party representatives attending the meeting included MIM Karwan MLA Kausar Mohiuddin, BSP’s Kalyani Nandish, BJP’s VS Bharadwaj, Congress’s G Niranjan, and BRS’s Vijay Kumar.
