During a raid on February 27 in Malakpet, officials seized 27,200 tablets of the spurious antibiotic ‘MPOD-200 Tablets’ worth Rs 7.34 lakh. These tablets were falsely labeled as being manufactured by a non-existent company called ‘Meg Lifesciences, Khasara, Sirmour.’

A person named Aravapalli Satyanarayana was caught selling the fake drugs and revealed he had bought them from Gandla Ramulu of Meerpet. Both Satyanarayana and Ramulu were apprehended by officials.
