Motorists in Hyderabad are once again asking for rumble strips on roads and flyovers to be removed. These strips were put in place to make drivers slow down and prevent accidents, but now people are saying they are causing back and elbow pain.

The demand to remove these strips comes from a group called ‘Team Road Squad.’ They have been running a campaign for the past 13 days, sharing images and videos of vehicles struggling on the strips.

An expert named Harsha from Team Road Squad explained that while rumble strips are used for safety in many countries, they can cause harm in places like India where there are small vehicles like bikes and scooters. Despite efforts to remove some strips, more keep appearing on the roads.

The thick rumble strips have caused problems for many people, including pregnant women, senior citizens, and ambulances. They can also lead to confusion for new drivers and affect car wheel alignment.

Harsha also mentioned that certain areas, like the Kothaguda flyover, are particularly risky due to the rumble strips. There are concerns about the strips on the Outer Ring Road as well, where high speeds could lead to tire bursts.

Activist Asif Hussain Sohail stated that officials have been asked to remove the strips before, but nothing has been done. This has caused frustration among motorists who continue to suffer from the effects of the rumble strips.
