Mayor Gundu Sudharani is working on ensuring drinking water supply in the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC). In a meeting with engineering officials, she emphasized the need to focus on providing water to all residents during the upcoming summer. This includes repairing water pipelines and fixing leaks as part of the summer action plan. The Mayor also stressed the importance of not neglecting slum areas and identifying areas with severe water scarcity.
Sudharani mentioned that 2,217 leakages in pipelines were identified last year, with 1,649 already repaired. She instructed officials to call for tenders for repairing and developing various water channels before the southwest monsoons arrive. Additionally, she asked for a report on ongoing projects under different funding schemes from 2020-21.
During the meeting, officials like SE Pravin Chandra and EEs BL Srinivas Rao were present, along with several other engineers and department heads. The Mayor’s directives aim to ensure a reliable and sustainable water supply for all residents in Warangal.
