The Science Day celebrations at Rashtrapati Nilayam kicked off with an inauguration of a book exhibition by the National Book Trust and Jana Vigyan Vedika. Around 1,100 students from 31 schools and 24 colleges took part in a quiz competition on the latest trends in science and technology. Various scientific institutes like NRSC, NGRI, CCMB, GSI, NSTI, and IIIT-H also showcased their technologies at stalls.
During the event, members of Jan Vigyan Vedika demonstrated how magic and mantras can be explained through science in a science magic show. Scientists from different research and development institutes were present to interact with students and answer their questions in a “Meet the Scientist” program, according to a senior officer.
