The Congress leadership in Hyderabad is considering appointing some party leaders to nominated posts since there will be no Cabinet expansion until after the Lok Sabha elections. It is likely that MLAs from Adilabad, Nizamabad, and Ranga Reddy districts will be given these key positions.
Among the MLAs expected to receive important nominated posts are P Sudarshan Reddy from Bodhan, K Premsagar Rao from Mancherial, and Malreddy Ranga Reddy from Ibrahimpatnam. The Congress high command has approved this proposal to prevent any dissatisfaction among senior leaders who were hoping for a Cabinet berth. This decision was made to address unrest among leaders in Nizamabad, Adilabad, and Ranga Reddy districts.
The party believes resolving this issue is crucial to avoid impacting its prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Party leaders are focusing on selecting MLAs who can influence the election outcomes.
The Congress is particularly interested in improving its performance in districts where it did not do well in the Assembly polls. By giving key leaders nominated posts, the party hopes to boost their motivation to work hard for victory and launch ‘Operation Akarsh.’
In addition to the three composite districts, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area is also important for the party, as it did not win any seats in the Assembly elections. There is a possibility that leaders from Hyderabad city may also be considered for nominated posts.
