Hyderabad’s Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy warned GHMC and HMDA officials of upcoming vigilance raids. He stated that those not following work protocols would be reassigned. During a review meeting of the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department, the CM made various decisions.
Revanth emphasized the need to clear building permission files within GHMC and HMDA limits. He noted missing files and automatic approvals without online verification. He called for generating a list of permissions granted offline. The CM questioned the deletion of online pond data from the HMDA website and demanded CCTV cameras be installed at ponds to prevent encroachment.
He also called for playgrounds for children in Hyderabad and expressed surprise at the absence of commissioners in newly formed municipalities. He instructed Group 1 officers to be appointed as commissioners and recommended IAS officers for new corporations. The CM proposed accident insurance for municipal workers and replacing elderly GHMC workers with family members.
Revanth suggested using drone cameras for property tax assessment and promoting multi-level parking in the private sector. He issued a warning to Zonal Commissioners who fail to visit colonies in the morning, emphasizing the need for active administrative roles. The CM proposed a video billboard like Times Square in New York for Hyderabad.
He directed waterworks officials to ensure quality water supply and develop a plan for drinking water from specific sources. Officials were also tasked with listing valuable government properties in Hyderabad and completing pending works and initiating new metro lines promptly.
