GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi faced criticism from BJP corporators during a council meeting in Hyderabad. The corporators complained about officials ignoring them and not responding to their calls. They asked for the re-implementation of a property tax payment scheme and raised concerns about illegalities in the Town Planning Department.
There were also accusations that the sanitation department’s funds were being wasted while the city streets remained dirty. MIM MLA Majid Hussain criticized the lack of clarity in the GHMC budget, stating that expenses exceeded income. The government was requested to allocate Rs 3000 crores to GHMC in the budget to address these issues.
