In preparation for Asia’s largest Jatara in Medaram, Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) instructed its staff to provide quality services to devotees. TSRTC MD and VC Sajjanar directed that steps be taken to ensure a hassle-free journey for the devotees. Around 6,000 buses will be operated from 51 points across Telangana during the Jatara from February 18 to 25.

TSRTC officials were advised to implement the Mahalakshmi scheme successfully and ensure that no devotees face difficulties. Approximately 15,000 staff members are working at the Jatara, with a focus on making the event accident-free. Drivers were urged to be polite with devotees to provide a positive experience.

TSRTC is expecting over 30 lakh devotees to attend the Jatara, with high traffic anticipated from various districts. T-shirts designed for TSRTC staff at the Jatara were unveiled during the preparations meeting. The corporation also plans to introduce 100 electric AC buses by April and 1,325 new buses by June.

Currently, TSRTC operates 64 electric AC buses in Greater Hyderabad with plans for expansion due to high demand, especially during the summer months. The recent inauguration of 100 new buses by Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is part of TSRTC’s phased plan to introduce new buses, including Palle Velugu, Express, Deluxe, and Lahari/Rajdhani buses.
