The Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) has asked the makers of the movie ‘Gaanja Shankar’ to change the title. The bureau is concerned that the title could promote drug use. The movie’s trailer shows the main character involved in the cannabis business, which the TSNAB believes could have a negative impact on viewers, especially students and youth.
The TSNAB has instructed the filmmakers to remove ‘Ganja’ from the title and to avoid any scenes that promote drug use. Failure to do so could result in legal action under the NDPS Act, 1985.
It is important for the filmmakers to comply with the TSNAB’s request to avoid any legal consequences.
