Hyderabad police have arrested a 22-year-old Bangladeshi woman who entered India illegally and was involved in prostitution. The police also apprehended a couple who provided shelter to the woman and used her for the flesh trade.

According to the police, the woman entered the country illegally two months ago and made her way to Hyderabad from Kolkata. She was staying at a house in Chandrayangutta in the Old City area. The incident came to light when she went to a customer without informing the couple, leading to a fight between them.

During their investigation, the police discovered that Sheikh Sania, a 27-year-old woman with a Bangladeshi mother and an Indian father, had several contacts in Kolkata. Sania had married Mohammed Salman, a 24-year-old worker at a garment shop, and the couple was living in Chandrayangutta.

Sania revealed that she met a 22-year-old Bangladeshi woman named Akhter on a chatting app used by Bangladesh and Myanmar nationals. They became friends, and when Akhter asked if she could earn money in Hyderabad, Sania suggested working as a maid for Rs 10,000 a month or engaging in prostitution for Rs 20,000. Akhter agreed to any work that would help her make money.

Akhter illegally crossed the border into India, reached Kolkata, and then took a train to Secunderabad. Sania and her husband picked her up from the railway station and brought her to their house, where they began using her for prostitution. Sania would accompany her to customers and bring her back.

On February 9, while Sania was visiting a neighbor’s house, Akhter received a call on Sania’s mobile phone from a customer who wanted her to come to Attapur. Akhter took an auto-rickshaw and went to the location.

Meanwhile, Sania started looking for Akhter and found out that she had gone to Attapur by checking her mobile phone. Sania called the number from which the last call was received, and the person informed her that Akhter was at Attapur.

Sania and her husband went to Attapur and got into an argument with Akhter. During the altercation, Akhter took Sania’s mobile phone and dialed 100 to inform the police. Further investigations revealed that Akhter has a husband and two children in Bangladesh.

The police have registered a case against the three individuals and are conducting an investigation.
