The Telangana police have opened eight new centers as part of their Bharosa initiative to protect women and prevent domestic and sexual abuse. These centers are located in Bhadradi-Kothagudem, Jaitiyal, Jangaon, Mancherial, Mulugu, Nagarkurnool, Peddapalli, and Wanaparthy. The Director-General of Police, Ravi Gupta, and the Additional Director-General of Police of Women Safety, Shikha Goel, inaugurated the centers virtually.

The Bharosa centers were established in 2013 following Supreme Court guidelines to create one-stop centers. Since then, they have made significant progress in supporting 4,782 cases of child sexual abuse and 1,163 rape cases. The centers aim to provide support and assistance to victims of crime, particularly women and children. They offer safe spaces where survivors can access counseling, legal aid, and medical assistance. By expanding the centers to additional districts, the police are further committing to providing victim-centric services and creating a safer environment for citizens.
