    Former Supreme Court Justice S Ravindra Bhat has been chosen to lead the Comparative Constitutional Law Studies at the MK Nambyar SAARC Law Centre for Advanced Legal Studies at NALSAR University of Law. This appointment was announced by NALSAR University of Law Vice-Chancellor Prof. Srikrishna Deva Rao. Justice Bhat will oversee the Centre’s vision and provide input on its research activities and outputs.

    The MK Nambyar SAARC Law Centre was established at NALSAR in 2003 and is now being revitalized with a focus on academic research, writing, and discussion on topics related to Indian constitutional law, comparative constitutional law, and other legal issues common to South Asian nations. Justice Bhat will guide the Centre in its upcoming research efforts.

    In addition, Prof. Nimushakavi Vasanthi, a current professor at NALSAR, will take on the role of director at the MK Nambyar SAARC Law Centre. To further enhance alumni involvement and student engagement, Suhasini Sen and Malavika Prasad, both NALSAR alumni and advocates, have been appointed as the programme coordinator and research coordinator respectively. Raji Gururaj, an advocate, has also been appointed as a research fellow.

    Justice Bhat has recently taught a course on Judicial Remedies in Civil Law and Public Law at NALSAR as part of their collaboration with him.
