Women students at Osmania University in Hyderabad expressed their anger and frustration after two men allegedly broke into the women’s hostel bathroom. The incident occurred the previous night, and it led to increased tensions on the campus. As a result, students at the Osmania University PG College staged a protest on Saturday to demand justice and better security measures.

During the protest, students blocked the way in front of their hostel, chanting slogans. Police personnel were present at the scene, trying to persuade the students to disperse. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) North Zone, Rohini Priyadarshini, stated that an unidentified person had scaled the campus wall and entered the girls’ hostel. However, the accused was already apprehended by the students and security personnel when the police arrived. The individual was taken into custody for further investigation.

The students not only demanded justice but also called for the resignation of the vice chancellor due to this breach of security. BRS MLC K Kavitha also voiced her concern over the incident, highlighting that similar security breaches have occurred in girls’ hostels in the twin cities. She criticized the government for not taking appropriate action despite previous reports of miscreants causing trouble in another girls’ hostel at Osmania University.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and the students hope for stricter security measures and better protection for women on campus.
