The Golkonda Fort in Hyderabad, which is protected by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), is getting a new light show starting from Wednesday. Currently, the fort relies on fixed lights and pre-recorded soundtracks from 1993. However, in order to upgrade the show to an international level, a new multimedia show has been planned. This show will feature 3D mapping projection using high-resolution projectors, laser lights, and moving heads for a captivating and immersive experience.
The Indian Oil Foundation is supporting this project, which aims to restore the grandeur of the fort through a permanent multimedia light and sound show. The Union Minister of Culture Tourism G Kishan Reddy will launch the show and inaugurate the façade illumination at the fort. The Ministry of Culture has taken on these projects to improve facilities and enhance the tourist experience at the fort.
The Golkonda Fort is a popular tourist destination in Hyderabad, with a daily footfall of around 2,000-3,000 visitors on weekdays and around 6,000 on weekends. The new show will use the fort’s façade to narrate the enriching and glorious story of Golconda spanning almost 800 years. The show will be 30 minutes and 20 seconds long and will be narrated in Telugu, Hindi, and English.
Overall, this new light show at the Golkonda Fort aims to bring new colors and excitement to the iconic tourist spot, providing visitors with a memorable experience.
