A festive atmosphere filled Telangana on Monday for the consecration of the Lord Ram temple in Ayodhya. There were special prayers, philanthropic activities, and processions organized throughout the state.
Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan performed Lord Ram puja and took part in Sri Rama Nama Sankeerthanam at Raj Bhavan. She prayed for the happiness and prosperity of the nation. Soundararajan, along with Union Tourism Minister and State BJP president G Kishan Reddy, attended celebrations at the Nizam College grounds, where the consecration ceremony was shown on a big screen. Soundararajan praised all those who contributed to the construction of the temple and prayed for the well-being of all. Kishan Reddy emphasized that the consecration is a significant event for India and Hindus worldwide. BJP’s OBC Morcha National President and MP K Laxman, who organized the screening, remembered a major rally at Nizam College when BJP leader L K Advani took out a ‘Rath Yatra’ for the temple’s construction.
Kishan Reddy also attended events celebrating the ‘pran pratishtha’ at Lord Ram temple in various places in Hyderabad, including Ujjain Mahankali temple and Narayanamma Engineering College. Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya participated in the celebration at the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) office in Koti. He praised the struggles of ‘karsevaks’ and the leadership of VHP’s former international president Ashok Singhal.
BJP National General Secretary and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar recited ‘Sri Rama Vijaya Nama Mantra’ at his home in Karimnagar during the ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony in Ayodhya. Devotees flocked to the famous Lord Ram temple in Bhadrachalam, and temples across Telangana were decorated with saffron flags and held special prayers. Some devotees set off fireworks in the city after the consecration in Ayodhya, and philanthropic activities like ‘Annadanam’ were conducted. Some residents of apartment complexes displayed banners and posters with Lord Ram’s image. Faithful followers also organized ‘shobha yatras’ and processions in different parts of the state.
