12 special teams of CID officers have busted a racket involved in processing passports for foreign nationals. The investigation resulted in the arrest of 12 accused, including the primary accused Abdus Sattar Osman Al Jahwari (50). They were processing passports for foreign nationals using fake documents. Among the accused are 9 agents and two special branch officers.

The primary accused, Sattar, had experience in creating fake Aadhaar cards, voter ID cards, birth certificates, and other documents. He collaborated with a passport broker in Chennai and charged Rs 75,000 for each case referred by an agent in Chennai. Sattar would create fake documents and book appointment slots under the candidates’ names. The candidates would then travel to Hyderabad on the scheduled dates. To ensure smooth operations, Sattar also bribed some SB officials to clear police verification.

The Chennai agent involved in the racket has been apprehended in Bengaluru and will be brought to Hyderabad for further legal proceedings. It has been revealed that 92 passports were issued through this gang, and many have already been used for travel abroad.

The CID registered a case on January 18 and seized 108 passports, 15 mobile phones, 5 laptops, and other incriminating materials during the investigation. The arrested accused will be presented before the court for judicial remand.
