Former ministers who were defeated in the recent Assembly elections are now aiming for a Lok Sabha seat in Mahabubnagar. The names of V Srinivas Goud and S Niranjan Reddy are being mentioned for the Palamuru segment.

According to sources, senior party leaders are interested in contesting the Lok Sabha elections, following the example of Congress and BJP leaders who have done the same in the past. Leaders like A Revanth Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, and N Uttam Kumar Reddy from Congress, and G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay from BJP, lost in the Assembly elections in 2018 but won in the subsequent Lok Sabha elections a few months later.

The BRS party currently has an MP from Mahabubnagar, M Srinivas Reddy. However, the party faced a setback in the recent Assembly elections as they lost in all seven Assembly segments in the Lok Sabha constituency. Now, former ministers V Srinivas Goud and S Niranjan Reddy are interested in this seat. Sources say that they have conveyed their intentions to the party leadership and will begin their campaign in the constituency once approved.

The Mahabubnagar seat is crucial for the BRS party as they have previously won it three times, including in 2009, 2014, and 2019. This is also the seat from which party chief K Chandrashekar Rao was an MP when the Telangana Bill was passed.

During a press conference, former minister Srinivas Goud stated that the party chief KCR will decide on the candidate for the Lok Sabha segment. He emphasized that party leaders must accept the decision made by the high command and that they will strive to win the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

In a meeting, BRS working president KT Rama Rao accused the Congress and BJP of having a nexus. He urged party leaders to spread the message that Congress has colluded with BJP. Rao alleged that while Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy previously claimed that Narendra Modi and Gautam Adani were the same, and money looted by Adani was being diverted to PM Modi, they have now made an agreement with Adani. Rao further alleged that the CM is working according to the directions of BJP leaders and predicted that people would revolt against the Congress party within six months.
