    The Drugs Control Administration officers raided a godown located at Ali Cafe, Azad Nagar, Amberpet. They received information that a man named Mohd. Basheer Ahmed was operating the godown without a drug license and selling medicines illegally. The raid took place on January 18 and 19, during which the officials found a large quantity of medicines in cardboard shipper cartons. These included 40 varieties of medicines such as antibiotics, syrups, anti-ulcer drugs, and more. Most of the medicines found had labels from ‘Ashley Pharmatech Pvt. Ltd.’ in New Delhi, with details of manufacturers from Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

    The godown also contained stocks of ‘Telangana Government Supply Drugs’, including Amoxycillin Capsules IP 500 mg manufactured by Goa Antibiotics & Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and Azithromycin Tablets IP 500 mg manufactured by Stride Organics Pvt. Ltd. Mohd Basheer Ahmed failed to disclose the source of supply and purchase bills for the medicine stocks. He admitted to supplying medicines to several medical shops in the state without any sale bills.

    The officers seized the suspected spurious/counterfeit medicines during the raid, with a total worth of Rs. 20.52 lakhs. The raid was initiated based on intelligence gathered by Drugs Inspector V Ajay regarding the unlicensed godown and illegal sale of medicines without sale bills. The raid was carried out by Joint Director G Ramdhan, Assistant Directors T Rajamouli, D Saritha, Drugs Inspectors B Lakshminarayana, V Ajay, Ch. Karthik Siva Chaitanya, J Nagaraju, A Rashmi.

    Samples of the suspected spurious/counterfeit drugs were taken for analysis, and further investigation will be conducted. Action will be taken against all the offenders according to the law.
