In the previous assembly elections, he faced several obstacles in his attempt to secure an MLA ticket, as Jitender Reddy was a former MP in Mahabubnagar and DK Aruna’s MLA ticket was given to a BC candidate in Gadwal. Even in Jadcherla, Shanti Kumar faced tough competition from senior BJP leader Chittaranjan Das.
Despite previous setbacks, Shanti Kumar is said to be intensifying his efforts to secure the Mahabubnagar BJP Parliament ticket. On the other hand, Aruna, who graciously gave up her MLA ticket for a BC candidate, is determined to retain the BJP parliament ticket from Mahabubnagar for the upcoming Lok Sabha Election.
Shanti Kumar recently stated during a program in the Jadcherla constituency that he expects to secure the Mahabubnagar Lok Sabha ticket this time. He hopes that both DK Aruna and Jitender Reddy will consider sacrificing the ticket for a BC candidate like him, considering that Mahabubnagar district has a BC population of over 60%.
As Aruna and Jitender Reddy have previously contested as MPs from Mahabubnagar, Shanti Kumar is hopeful that the BJP high command will choose him and give him the opportunity to showcase his strengths in the upcoming electoral battle. The competition within the BJP in Mahabubnagar is shaping up to be a political drama filled with intrigue and suspense as the contenders vie for the party’s approval.
