The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has informed traders in Hyderabad to renew their licenses for the year 2024. The current trade license expired on December 31, 2023. Traders will be issued a Trade License Certificate after payment, which will be valid from January 2024 to December 2024.
According to the GHMC, the trade license is automatically renewed upon payment of the renewal fee, as per GO Rt No 459, dated June 22, 2017, of MA and UD on implementation of the Ease of Doing Business Norms (EODB).
If traders fail to renew their license on time, an additional fee will be charged. However, if the renewal is made on or before January 31, 2024, no penalty will be imposed. From February 1 to March 31, a 25% penalty will be imposed, and from April 1 onwards, a penalty of over 50% will be charged.
If a trade is found to be carried out without a license, a 100% penalty will be imposed at the time of identification, followed by a fine of 10% every month until the trader obtains a trade license.
GHMC has requested all traders in Greater Hyderabad to take advantage of this opportunity and obtain a trade license by making an online payment for a Provisional Trade License Certificate immediately. Traders can also renew their license by January 31, 2024, at any Meeseva centers/CSC in GHMC Head office and circle offices. Traders who have not obtained a trade license so far are advised to apply for a fresh trade license online or visit any Meeseva centers.
