Hyderabad: Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan clarified on Saturday that she is not entering active politics. There were reports in the media that she had gone to Delhi to seek a ticket for the Thoothukudi Lok Sabha constituency in Tamil Nadu, but she said these reports were just speculation.
Tamilisai stated that she continues to hold the positions of Governor of Telangana and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. She said she is discharging her duties in these roles with the blessings of Lord Rama and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She also confirmed that she did not make any request to the BJP central leadership for a ticket for the Lok Sabha.
Tamilisai mentioned that she recently visited Thoothukudi, which was affected by floods, and attended a program there. Despite holding gubernatorial posts, she expressed her desire to be with the people and work for them. She added that she is willing to take on any responsibilities given to her by the party.
The Governor made these remarks during a brief interaction with the media after visiting the Anuradha Timber Depot in Bowenpally. The timber depot had made the doors for the grand Ram Mandir, which will be consecrated on January 22. Tamilisai congratulated the management of the timber depot for their impressive work and expressed her intention to see it in person when she visits Ayodhya.
