The Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force, South-East zone team, and Secretariat police have caught three drug peddlers who had MDMA drugs. The police found 102 grams of MDMA worth Rs 7.10 lakh in their possession.
The arrested individuals are Anup Navnath Sonawane, also known as Anup peddler (32), Kiran Gangadhar Bomnale, also known as Rahul peddler (28), and Vivek Rajesh Waghmare, also known as Vicky (19), all from Maharashtra. They were selling drugs in Hyderabad and were caught at M S Maktha. The police seized 102 grams of MDMA, Rs 16,000 in cash, and four mobile phones from them.
According to the police, Anup is a mechanical engineer in Pune who used to consume MDMA drugs himself. In 2020, he started supplying drugs to consumers in Pune and other places due to financial difficulties. He bought the drugs for Rs 2,000 per gram and sold them for Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000.
In 2022, Anup was arrested by H-NEW and sent to jail with other suspects. After being released, he continued his drug business. Anup would go to Nalasopara in Mumbai to buy drugs from an African nationalist named Joe Jack and supply them to Rahul, Vicky, and some customers in Hyderabad named Riyaz and Arif.
To meet the high demand during New Year celebrations in Hyderabad, the trio traveled from Pune and stayed at a friend’s place in M S Maktha, Somajiguda.
On Thursday, while they were waiting near M S Maktha to deliver the drugs to Riyaz and Arif, plainclothes police officers arrested them and seized 102 grams of MDMA.
