The Congress party in Telangana held a protest against the suspension of 146 MPs from Parliament during the winter session. Many Congress leaders, including ministers, participated in the day-long protest at Dharna Chowk. This was the first big protest at the chowk since the ban on agitations was lifted by the Congress government. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that democracy was under attack and criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their behavior after the incident.

Ministers D Sridhar Babu, Ponnam Prabhakar, Jupally Krishna Rao, and other Congress leaders, as well as CPI MLA K Sambasiva Rao and members of the Aam Aadmi Party, also joined the protest. Sridhar Babu accused the Modi government of suspending the MPs because they couldn’t answer their questions. He also criticized the BJP government for going against the spirit of democracy.

When the previous government banned protests at Dharna Chowk, the Congress fought against it in court. People criticized the previous government for its dictatorial attitude. Sridhar Babu added that the BJP will be taught a lesson in the upcoming elections.

Some protesters from the Aam Aadmi Party-Telangana unit held placards with slogans like “Save India,” “Save Democracy,” and “Modi Hatao Desh Bachao.” They also raised slogans. The Congress also organized protests in other parts of the state.
