The Telangana Police Department in Hyderabad is planning to offer discounts on pending traffic challans, just like they did last year. The department wants to reduce the number of pending challans in the state by announcing significant discounts. An official announcement regarding this will be made soon. Last year, when they announced discounts on traffic challans, it yielded good results as they were able to collect penalties worth Rs. 300 crore from pending challans.

By the end of November 2023, it is expected that the number of pending challans in the state will reach two crore. The state police department is taking measures to minimize this number and has decided to provide another discount to those who pay their challans within a specific timeframe.
