Telangana State BJP is demanding Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to request a CBI investigation into corruption in the Kaleswaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP). Former BJP MLA Raghunandan Rao specifically mentioned that Reddy had previously written letters to Union Home Minister Amit Shah claiming to have evidence of corruption in KLIPS and calling for a CBI probe. The Congress party, which is now in power in Telangana, had promised to expose corruption in KLIP during their campaign. However, it appears that the Congress government is only focusing on investigating the Medigadda Irrigation Project (MIP) within KLIP. The former BJP MLA also highlighted that there has been no response to requests from the CAG for information on KLIP. Additionally, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi accused former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of looting crores of rupees through KLIP. The TPCC chief Revanth Reddy has questioned why the BJP-led Centre has not initiated a CBI probe into the corruption allegations. The BJP leader also claimed that representatives from a contracting company have met with politicians from a neighboring state, raising suspicions about the government’s intentions to protect the firm that allegedly profited heavily from the project. The BJP leader demanded that the Congress government and CM Revanth Reddy not limit the investigation to just the Medigadda project and instead recover the money owed to the people of Telangana and punish those involved in corruption. The leader also offered to provide additional evidence if requested by the State government.
