    The Meteorological department has issued a red alert for the districts of Khammam, Bhadradri-Kothagudem, and Mulugu due to the Michaung cyclone in the Bay of Bengal.

    The IMD predicts moderate to heavy rains in the northern and southern districts of Telangana. Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari had a tele-conference with the district collectors to discuss the impact of the cyclone. She emphasized the need for caution and adherence to protocols in light of the heavy rain expected in the next two days.

    The Chief Secretary instructed officials to take precautionary measures, such as checking for breaches in water bodies and ensuring the safety of low-lying areas. NDRF teams have been deployed to Kothagudem and Mulugu districts.

    In response to the red alert, schools in Bhadradri-Kothagudem and nearby districts have been closed. There have been reports of continuous rain in Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Mahabubnagar, and other areas.

    In Hyderabad, there have been drizzles since early morning, causing inconvenience for residents. The temperature has dropped to 22 degrees Celsius. The city has been issued a yellow alert by the IMD.
