    The District Election Officer, District Collector Ila Tripathi, has emphasized the importance of conducting assembly election polling in the district. A video meeting was held with State Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj and other Chief Electoral Officers from Hyderabad to discuss the arrangements for the upcoming general elections. District Election Officer Ila Tripathi and Returning Officer Ankit Additional Collector D Venu Gopal participated in the meeting.

    During the meeting, State Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj provided instructions to the District Collectors regarding various aspects of the election process, including polling, distribution of voter identity cards, establishment of reception centers, movement of EVM machines, and counting arrangements.

    Following the meeting, District Election Officer Ila Tripathi urged officials to strictly adhere to the guidelines set by the Election Commission in order to ensure a smooth polling process. She also emphasized the need to set up model polling centers in each assembly constituency to encourage participation from women, youth, and disabled individuals. Additionally, she stated that a period of silence will be observed for 48 hours after the end of the election campaign in the Mulugu assembly constituency.

    The Collector further instructed the returning officer to inform political parties and candidates about the rules to be followed during the silence period and ensure that non-locals who came for campaigning from other areas leave the constituency. She also emphasized the importance of establishing distribution and reception centers for polling and making necessary arrangements for polling staff.

    On the day of polling, it was emphasized that polling staff should arrive on time, conduct mock polls, and carry out their duties efficiently. Special attention should also be given to vulnerable polling centers. Webcasting should be organized in polling centers, and a control room should be set up to monitor the polling process continuously.

    The meeting was attended by various officials including RDO K. Satyapal Reddy, Mulugu Tehsildar Vijaya Bhaskar, and other concerned officers.
