A 10-day training camp has started at the Army Garrison in Mehdipatnam. The purpose of the camp is to select cadets from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to represent the NCC contingent for the Republic Day in Delhi. The camp began on November 18 and includes 164 boys and 128 girls from various schools and colleges in both states. The goal is to provide these cadets with an opportunity to showcase their talent on a national level. The camp has better infrastructure for training and will focus on activities such as marching, cultural programs, and selecting the best NCC cadets.

Air Commodore VM Reddy, Deputy Director-General, stated that intense training will be provided during the first camp. From this training camp, 128 cadets will be selected to represent the AP and Telangana directorate. These selected cadets will then undergo further rigorous training at the Artillery Centre in Mehdipatnam from December 6 to 25. The aim is to ensure that the AP and Telangana team stands out among the 17 directorates participating in the Republic Day camp.

The Deputy Director-General expressed confidence that the AP and Telangana team, which ranked 16th out of 17 in the previous camp, will rise to the top in the upcoming camp. In addition, the 75th NCC Day will be celebrated on November 26 at Mehdipatnam Garrison with great enthusiasm.
