Actor-turned-politician Vijaya Shanthi, who recently quit the BJP, has now joined the Congress. She made this decision in the presence of top leaders like AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge. Vijaya Shanthi was denied a ticket in the Assembly polls, which led to her resignation from the BJP. The joining ceremony took place in Hyderabad and was attended by Kharge, AICC (TS) incharge Manikrao Thakre, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and other party leaders. Vijaya Shanthi had formally resigned from the BJP a few days ago by sending a letter to the party’s State president and Union Minister, G Kishan Reddy. Despite the elections being just two weeks away, she chose to join the Congress.
