In Khammam, City Congress President Mohammed Javeed criticized the BRS-BJP alliance for neglecting the welfare of minority communities. He questioned KCR’s commitment to increasing minority reservation and accused both the BJP and BRS of failing to protect Waqf properties and address the need for reservations.
Javeed highlighted the Congress government’s role in minority development, including the creation of the Minority Welfare Department in 1993. He promised that if elected, a Congress government would prioritize the economic empowerment of minorities.
Javeed announced plans to increase the welfare budget for minorities to Rs 4,000 crore. He also proposed allocating Rs 1,000 crore for subsidised loans to unemployed minority youth and women. In addition, he promised to provide Indiramma’s houses to the homeless and financial assistance of Rs 1,60,000 to newly married Muslims, Christians, and Sikhs.
