BJP MP and party OBC Morcha national president, Dr K Laxman, criticized both BRS and Congress for their disrespectful treatment of BCs and their anti-BC policies. Laxman spoke to the media in the national capital and called Rahul Gandhi’s statements an insult to the entire BC society. He accused the Congress of not doing anything for BCs and being opposed to the BJP’s efforts to support them.
Laxman questioned why the Congress had a problem with BCs gaining political power and mentioned that both Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah have a reputation for following through on their promises. He highlighted the initiatives taken by the BJP to give BCs their due, including the appointment of BCs as MLAs, MPs, Union ministers, MLCs, and in nominated posts. He also mentioned the constitutional status given to the BC Commission in 2018 and the PM Viswakarma Scheme aimed at encouraging traditional vocations of BCs with a budget of Rs 13,000 crore.
Laxman criticized the Congress for winning only three Parliament seats in Telangana and forgetting the fact that their candidates lost deposits in the past two years. He called Congress leaders ignorant and entitled due to their dynastic politics. He also accused BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao of insulting BCs by failing to provide funds for the BC Sub-Plan in Telangana. Laxman urged BCs in Telangana to seize the opportunity and support the BJP to win the position of CM.
