Hyderabad: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi challenged Union Minister Amit Shah’s statement that the party would appoint an OBC as Chief Minister in Telangana. He doubted that neither the BJP nor the BRS would give OBCs the recognition they deserve. Rahul Gandhi dared the BJP to show at least one OBC CM in the states where they are in power.
During a public meeting in Shadnagar, Rahul Gandhi made fun of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, suggesting that he might even appoint an OBC as CM on the moon. He also mentioned that the success of Chandrayaan was due to the efforts of ISRO, started by Nehru and supported by successive Congress governments. He questioned if the BJP could show any OBC CMs in the states they currently rule.
In another public meeting in Kalwakurthy, Rahul Gandhi expressed confidence in the Congress party’s victory in Telangana. He claimed that they had deflated the BJP’s confidence and predicted that the BJP would not receive more than two percent of votes in the state. He questioned how the BJP would be able to appoint an OBC CM if they only received such a low percentage of votes.
Rahul Gandhi also took a dig at the BJP’s top leadership, including PM Modi, suggesting that they would claim to install a person of their choice as an American President.
Rahul Gandhi promised to establish Telangana International Schools in all mandals if the Congress comes to power. He criticized KCR and Modi for privatizing schools.
Rahul Gandhi referred to himself as the ‘nightmare’ of Modi and KCR, claiming that they lose sleep when they dream about him. He mentioned that he is facing 24 cases and that the BJP constantly talks about him, which he sees as a badge of honor.
During his tour, Rahul Gandhi highlighted the plight of youth who wanted to join the army but had to give up their dreams due to the announcement of Agniveer. He mentioned that these youth were now working as laborers to earn a living.
