    Collision of two trains near Visakhapatnam results in 6 deaths and multiple injuries

    Six people were killed and many others were injured in a train accident in Vizianagaram district. The accident happened when a stationary train was hit from behind by another train. Three coaches derailed near Alamanda railway station. The injured people were taken to hospitals in Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam.

    Rescue teams were dispatched to the scene, but the area was dark due to damage to electric wires. The local administration and NDRF were notified for assistance. The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, expressed shock over the accident and instructed officials to provide relief operations. He announced compensation for the families of the deceased and the injured.

    The Union Railway Minister, Aswini Vaishnav, spoke to the Chief Minister and was informed about the rescue efforts. The Chief Minister assured that arrangements were made in nearby hospitals to treat the injured. Prior to this, the Chief Minister had instructed various departments to coordinate relief operations.

    Helplines have been set up at Visakhapatnam railway station for any assistance related to the train accident.
