The state BJP in Hyderabad is facing confusion as they are lagging behind their rivals in terms of campaign for the Assembly polls. There has been a delay in announcing the names of candidates and some leaders, like Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, have left the party.
To address this situation, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be attending the proposed Praja Garjana in Suryapet on Friday. Shah will review the passing-out parade of the IPS probationers and hold a meeting with party leaders to assess the situation.
According to a party senior leader, the BJP’s troubles began with the entry of leaders like Rajagopal Reddy, who demanded the party’s command to arrest BRS MLC Kalavakuntla Kavitha in the Delhi liquor scam. The central leadership stated that they cannot mix government work with party affairs.
There is speculation within the party about who will be the next to quit. The name of national vice president D K Aruna has also been mentioned, but she has denied any such move. Some other party leaders who have organized meetings with dissidents, including Vijayashanti, are now under scrutiny.
In light of these developments and ahead of the announcement of the party’s second list of candidates, Shah will be meeting with senior party leaders on Friday.
