Land grabbers in Rajendra Nagar area of Rangareddy district have encroached on government land that was allotted for the establishment of a district court. The encroachments were discovered in the Gandhi Nagar area of Premavathipet village, where some local people, who are believed to be laborers, have built compound walls to occupy over an acre of land. This land was handed over to the Revenue officials in 2021 for the construction of a new court complex.

Despite a caution board warning against trespassing, the encroachers, allegedly aided by local leaders, have breached the government land and erected a raised boundary wall. This is not the first time such encroachments have occurred in the area, as local laborers have previously encroached on government lands with the help of local leaders.

The officials from GHMC and Revenue are currently occupied with election preparedness, leaving an opportunity for the encroachers to take advantage. The government land in Premavathipet village has also been trespassed before, despite the caution board placed by the court authorities.

Local residents are aware of these incidents and express concern over the ongoing encroachments. The proposed court complex was meant to provide improved facilities, including a fully furnished residential block for the legal fraternity.
